Yes the beloved Ford straight six is finally getting the love it deserves. The aftermarket has been slowly getting on board and providing more and more parts for this famous motor.

Stainless Headers MFG now sells laser cut exhaust manifold flanges for the Ford 300 and the Ford 240 motor. They provide both mild steel as well as a 304 stainless steel flange. At under $110 for the stainless option it opens the door for builders to create turbo manifolds to suite whatever application they dream up! Although the Ford 300 motor is a bit of an obscure motor in terms of performance it has always carried a bit of a cult following. After Power Nation built a 500hp turbo Ford 300 the popularity of the straight six has taken off.

The Ford 4.9L straight six has a pretty complex exhaust flange. A lot of work went into creating a flange that fits the factory siamese port head. The 3/8” thick flange matched up almost perfectly with the factory exhaust manifold as well as the head itself.

This flange will be the critical point to the start of the turbo system for our 1966 F100 project. But thats a story for another day!

For those who don’t want to adventure into building a custom exhaust manifold for there Ford straight six don’t fret! Stainless Headers Mfg also offers a full turbo manifold to fit the Ford 4.9. They offer two styles of turbo manifolds to better fit your application. Although not the cheapest option in the world this off the shelf option can save some headache in the long run.
