Petrol360 New Project Truck

Its that time of the year again! Time to pick up a new project and get some grease under my finger nails. Thankfully I already knew exactly what that project will be. A short bed slick side (1961-1966 Ford F100 truck) build has been stuck in my head for a number of years. So when the perfect canvas came up for sale I decided to finally start!

My perfect canvas is actually far from perfect. In fact its pretty rough. A keen eyed viewer will see the bed sitting crooked and that the truck has the wrong grill. This truck has lived a hard life, rust got the best of the factory bed. So the bed was replaced but not bolted down to the frame. The front end had been replaced more then likely due to an accident. There are a few dozen loose ends that need to be buttoned up as well before the truck hits the road.

Regardless of the rough edges there is a silver lining to the truck. Under the hood is a healthy 300ci straight six motor, legendary beyond just Ford fans. These motors are known to run forever and have the torque to pull a house down. Despite carburetor and spark issues it runs and doesn’t smoke and wants to go back to work. While most would consider swapping to a V8 motor I actually wanted to find a truck with the 4.9l motor. Its about time I get the know this motor. I am also looking forward to having lots more room under the hood for future plans.

So as you can tell we have a whole lot of work to get done! Make sure to follow along with the progress of the truck on YouTube as well as Instgram!
