1966 F100, Back To Life

Getting The New Project Truck Up And Running

If you haven’t seen we have a new project truck that I am working to bring back to life. This 1966 F100 short bed will be the starting point for a bit of an different build (stick around to find out why). So take a moment to read up on the new project truck to get up to date on what we are working with. Ok now lets jump into the video!

First thing first, the truck runs but only kinda. The 300ci inline six cylinder seems happy but the carb just isn’t letting it run well. So that was the first thing to check off the list to help bring the truck back to life Pulling the 4 barrel carburetor was simple enough and after emptying some rust from the bowls and setting the float hight it went back on the motor.

With the motor running I can take a sigh of relief. One small part of the puzzle is accounted for and in its place. Although this F100 was said to be running and driving its always good to test your yourself. As for running and driving it was obvious that it had been a number of years since that statement was true. But thats just part of the game and the excitement of diving into a new project. Getting your hands dirty and getting to know the truck for yourself!

Thankfully the motor came right back to life. To top it off the old motor doesn’t smoke or sputter. After years on the road it looks like the truck is ready to put down some more miles. But this isn’t the end of the story on getting the truck back on the road.
